I just bought an Acer Aspire S3, version 2020, and the laptop is soft bricked, meaning that it can't be reset, even using Windows 7 recovery. I've tried to reset it using Windows 7's "Recovery" mode, but it doesn't do anything, it only displays a blank screen where it says "Press F10 for Command Prompt".

Step 2. Download UnlockHDexe on a USB drive (its totally free). Step 3. Insert the USB into the motherboard. Connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to your modem. Step 4. Remove the battery and power plug. Unplug the keyboard. Step 5. Insert the CD and the USB. The system will lock in the boot-up process. Step 6. To finish the process, youll need to press one or two buttons to activate the HD unlock LED. If you dont know what to press, just follow the instructions shown on the screen.
Download everything to a USB drive and follow the instructions in this video. Important: Although it should only take a few minutes, it can take a long time if youre using an older Acer model. If you have problems downloading the files, try manually downloading them from this website: https://goo.gl/OOWZsD And save them in the root of your USB drive. Extract the downloaded files using software such as 7-Zip (Windows/Mac) or a Linux compressed tar. You will find an option to extract the files automatically. Select it and press Enter. 3d9ccd7d82
