Framework &  Guiding Principles

At their heart, the Fork to Farm dialogues are about farmers and cities being the drivers rather than the objects of change. For this to happen it is necessary to strengthen trust between farmers and cities, and strengthening trust is a relationship-building process. Relationship-building takes time, so the dialogues are not just one-off conversations, but rather a series of local-led interactions between farmers and cities.

The way in which these dialogues are conducted and the specific outcomes of each one, will be a result of local places and people. At the same time, with the Fork to Farm dialogue principles at their core and the shared aim of building understanding and trust and strengthening the foundation for new partnerships between farmers and cities, all dialogues will be part of a global family of local dialogues.
